Here's an interesting Lionel collectable. It's the 6-11810 Budweiser Diesel Set.
It was never in any Lionel catalog (although not the first set Lionel didn't catalogue). It was commissioned by Anhauser-Busch,
and less than 900 sets were made in 1993. You would never find this set in a toy outlet for sale. Also, very few select hobby
shops were even able to carry the few sets that were in circulation from 1993-4. Today, a very few circulate around eBay,
and some train swap meets. People sell lots of Lionel equipment, claiming it's rare. If you happen to come across one, you
could be sure you have one of Lionel's rarest train sets!
I collect beer trains and steins, I just think this set is
awesome, and at the top of my collection!

The 6-11810 set is not elaborate by starter set standards.
It's not a starter set! It is sparse, consisting of only a locomotive, 1 boxcar, and a caboose, an oval of tubular track,
and only a 20-watt transformer. Anheuser-Busch wanted the custom sets for promotional gifts, and executive prizes. They
only kept a few of them, the rest went out into the marketplace, without the advantage of eBay, or even the internet, to announce
it's arrival!
There are actually a couple of fakes out there. The real ones are as described above, and painted and
lettered exactly as pictured below.
